The Genesis of Maadhyamik
While modern digital platforms offer an abundance of engaging content for children in English—ranging from science and history to fantasy—regional language ecosystems have lagged behind. This digital gap has created an artificial barrier, causing many children in India and diaspora communities abroad to develop a mental block toward their native languages, finding them difficult or unengaging.
Maadhyamik Technologies was founded to dismantle this barrier. We do not believe in forcing language learning as a chore; instead, we build intuitive, high-quality digital ecosystems that make native languages a joyful exploration. Through our Lexifyd Platform, we combine advanced engineering with interactive content to ensure the next generation connects deeply and effortlessly with their history & linguistic heritage.
Leadership
Dr. Baskaran Sankaran
Dr. Baskaran Sankaran is an NLP researcher, technologist, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience spanning academia and industry, including tenures at Microsoft Research and IBM Research. He holds a PhD in NLP and serves as the strategic and technical anchor for Maadhyamik Technologies. Throughout his career, he has engineered advanced NLP systems and language technology products for Indian languages, leading to some commercialization.
Prior to founding Maadhyamik, Baskaran co-founded Dattendriya Data Science Solutions in 2017, where he built sophisticated business analytics and NLP platforms for premier pharmaceutical clients across the US and Europe, culminating in its acquisition by Syneos Health in 2022.
By combining an elite research background with a proven track record of a successful B2B tech exit, he seamlessly bridges advanced NLP engineering with a scalable vision to revitalize regional languages for the next generation.
Mohanraj Balakrishnan
Mohanraj leads the end-to-end product strategy, lifecycle management, and execution at Maadhyamik Technologies. With an extensive background in transforming complex technical frameworks into user-centric software solutions, he ensures our platforms are intuitive, engaging, and scalable.
Collaborating closely across engineering and design tracks, Mohanraj oversees the deployment of our mobile and web applications. His focus is on translating pedagogical methodologies into seamless interactive features, driving the product roadmap to deliver cross-platform ecosystems that captivate young learners and adult heritage speakers alike.
